HAPPY SEPTEMBER! Saying goodbye to Summer is hard, but fashion month makes it easier to accept that struggle. Time to curl up with your September Issue of Vouge and your Pumpkin Spice Latte! Fashion week has been amazing for me and I have been cuddling with my husband, Sam and watching all the STUNNING shows in NYC and wishing I was home. The Ralph Lauren 50th show had me DROOLING and longing for summers watching the boats in central park from bethesda terrace(Link right here for those who are interested).
Jesse and I had the amazing opportunity to attend Utah Fashion Week! Just because we aren’t in New York this year doesn’t mean we can’t experience fashion in our own community. It was really inspiring to see local artists with their eclectic twist on this years trends. Some of the designers shared some ambitious work compared to their execution, which happens at every level. The work that shined were the pieces I could honestly see myself in. One of those lines was for sure, TanLines.

Tan Lines is a modest swimwear line put together by Emily Smith – the modest goddess. She has been a long time warrior of creating clothing for women from all walks of life to feel comfortable in. She created a line of lingerie that was marketed without models so it’s a more comfortable experience to shop. Then she launched TanLines, which is a modest swimwear company.
I’m here to tell you that Target doesn’t always have your back in this department and Forever 21’s swim line this last year was comparable to Dental Floss. I’m not one for a Brazilian cut thong bikini, so this line is good for me. While we’re here I’m going to go ahead and drop the only photograph of me looking good in a bikini I have ever taken for a shameless confidence boost. Tell me I’m pretty.
Tanlines dropped a line I had no idea I needed.
I don’t know why this isn’t a thing. The Tanlines winter line includes long sleeves and a cold weather color pallet. I didn’t know that I needed this, but now I don’t know how I lived without it. I live in UTAH. We go to hot springs in the mountains all winter, and hot tubs at ski resorts. In general – it’s usually cold here. Why not have a cold weather swim line so I’m not a freak in a hot pink bikini in two feet of snow? Long sleeve one pieces seem like such a no brainer now, but that’s what a great line does. It see’s a solution to a problem and makes it work. Here’s a few shots and videos from the runway!
Totes cute, right? I didn’t know I needed this! This opens up a bigger dialogue about what women are actually comfortable wearing while swimming! It’s nice to see some designers finally making swimwear that women can feel comfortable wearing because lord knows we all HATE swimsuit shopping. I don’t care what model you are, trying on a swimsuit is always a difficult pill to swallow.
Thanks for making something that covers my body and doesn’t look like my grandma wore it during the 70’s.
